Chiltern Railways has announced that The Rural Community Defibrillator Group, Princes Risborough Town Council and Lloyd Latchford have unveiled a defibrillator situated at Princes Risborough station.

The medical device is situated at the entrance to the platform. It offers 24/7 immediate life-saving help.

These will be available to all that need it to help until the paramedics arrive to help.

As you may have heard, the Chinnor and Princes Risborough have recently opened up the station along the branch line at Princes Risborough, meaning the medical device will be available to tourists arriving at the heritage railway from the mainline.

What did the officials say?

Paul Rogerson, Treasurer of RCDG said:

“We’re are delighted to have been given the support from , Lloyd Latchford and the Town Council for this project. We are always looking at further opportunities to increase the number of defibrillators as may be appropriate to each area in and around Princes Risborough and also to help with training people in how to react to heart emergency situations. The defibrillators are fully automatic and if you dial 999 you will directed to your nearest public Defibrillator as appropriate.

“You never know when you may need to use one of these machines and they do save lives. We are pleased to be able to partner with the local councils, First Responders, the British Heart Foundation, local companies and individuals to put this life saving equipment in place”

Matthew Walsh, Mayor of Princes Risborough Town Council added:

“The Town Council is delighted to support the tremendous work of the RCDG in order to provide another Defibrillator for the Town and its Community.

Rob Munday, Station Manager at Chiltern Railways said:

“I’d like to thank the Rural Community Defibrillator Group for their hard work in arranging this life-saving machine for the station.  I’d also like to thank everyone who contributed, it’s a great example of what can be achieved when we come together to help our local community.”
