The Groudle Glen Railway has released an update on the overhaul of steam locomotive ‘Sea Lion’.
The locomotive’s boiler has now been reunited with the frames and the cab has also been assembled. The cab corners have been re-welded and dressed.
The inlet manifold has been repaired and machined and then has been assembled inside the boiler.
It is brilliant to see work continuing on this locomotive, and we look forward to seeing the locomotive in steam soon.
What did the officials say?
The volunteers said:
We wish to thank those generous organisations and individuals who have supported this project: The Manx Lottery Trust, Culture Vannin, The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company and the staff and management at the North Bay Railway.
