Greater Anglia has announced that it has installed new external power supplies that will serve the pedestrian area at Cambridge railway station.
This is to accommodate pop up market stalls and independent traders.
Additionally, 24 ‘uplighters’ have been installed at the front of the station building to highlight its recently refurbished roundels.
The work has been carried out by CIS Services limited (cabling) and Stonewest Heritage consultants and the specialist heritage division of Alfred Bagnall &sons (roundels). This work was funded by a grant from the Railway Heritage Trust.
What did the officials say?
Greater Anglia‘s Asset Management Director, Simone Bailey, said:
“Cambridge has a lot of fantastic independent retailers and artisans and, as the second busiest rail station in East Anglia, the station is a great place for them to showcase their products. Anyone wishing to hire space at the station can find out more on our website.”
