Chiltern Railways is warning passengers that train services from Oxford Parkway will be busier than normal between 7th July and 22nd July 2018 because of track improvement work around Oxford.
Network Rail will be modernising 1960s signalling and track to make services more reliable through the area.
Oxford Parkway will be a popular alternative and passengers are advised to allow extra time for travelling.
It is also expected that Banbury, Bicester Village, Bicester North and Haddenham & Thame Parkway will also be busier than normal.
Great Western Railway passengers can use train tickets to travel with Chiltern Railways but will need to pay the £2 for park and ride.
Chiltern Railways has also worked with Oxford Bus Company to provide an enhanced rail replacement service between Oxford and Oxford Parkway.
What did the officials say?
Alan Riley, Customer Services Director at Chiltern Railways:
“To continue to improve our railways, engineering work sometimes needs to take place over longer periods.
“Our customers may experience busier than normal journeys during this period especially on services to and from Oxford Parkway. We have added as many extra carriages as possible and we will have extra customer ambassadors at stations.”
