ScotRail has announced that it is going to be adding extra train carriages to help passengers travelling to see Ed Sheeran at Hampden Park this weekend.
Hampden Park will be playing host to Ed Sheeran’s UK tour on Friday 1, Saturday 2, and Sunday 3 June 2018.
The additional carriages will be added to trains on routes to Glasgow as well as trains between Glasgow Central and Mount Florida (the closest station to Hampden Park).
Queuing systems are going to be in place at Glasgow Central before the concert and at Mount Florida after the concert.
Passengers at the concert are being advised to head for the station as soon as possible after the event to join the queues on Bolton Drive as the last trains will depart soon after and are expected to be busy.
ScotRail will have extra staff on the ground to assist customers.
What did the officials say?
ScotRail Alliance Head of Customer Experience Graham Heald said:
“We’re looking forward to helping music fans travel by train to see Ed Sheeran in concert this weekend.
“To help the event run smoothly, we’re adding extra carriages to trains to and from the city centre, as well as to Hampden.
“Regular commuters who travel home from Glasgow on the line via Mount Florida should be aware that services will be much busier than normal with fans heading to the gig – particularly on Friday evening.”
