East Midlands Trains passengers have raised over £1,500 for the mental health charity, Mind, by donating their Delay Repay compensation.
Back at the beginning of 2017, East Midlands Trains launched a new scheme where passengers could donate their compensation to the train operators charity. In 2017, passengers raised £2,265 for 2017s charity, Railway Children.
Since March 2018, passengers have raised £1,500 for 2018s charity, Mind.
Mind provides support for anybody experiencing a mental health. One in four suffer from a mental health problem each year in England and Wales.
What did the officials say?
Jake Kelly, Managing Director, East Midlands Trains, said:
“We’re delighted our customers have helped to raise over £1,500 for Mind.
“We hope this scheme will continue to provide support for Mind throughout the year and we would like to thank our customers for their generosity.”
Karen Bolton, Head of Community and Events Fundraising, Mind, added:
“We’re very grateful to East Midlands Trains for their fantastic support of Mind’s work. All money raised will allow us to continue to be there for people who need it, when they need it the most and to fight to make sure that everyone with a mental health problem gets the support and respect they deserve.”
