The Mid Hants Railway will be holding their 1940s weekend on the 16th and 17th June 2018. Immerse yourself in the life of the Home Front with an American theme!
There will be re-enactments, displays, vintage vehicles, market stalls, singing and steam trains. Whats not to love?
‘Pearl’s Pin-up Parlour’ will be at Ropley Station to give guests the 40s look, with hair-dos and vintage make-up and an American-style Donut Wagon.
Ropley will be decorated with poppies to comemmorate the soldiers, and Saturday will feature a Spitfire flying over Ropley.
Service men and women will be dashing about, saying good bye to loved ones and evacuees boarding the trains – everything to allow you to be immersed
Local businesses will be joining in the celebrations, with shop windows being decorated with an ‘Americans in Alresford’ theme.
