Train operating company, South Western Railway, has announced that its new timetable, which comes into effect on the 20th May 2018, is bringing longer trains to some of their busiest routes.
This news follows the introduction of 11,000 more seats into and out of London Waterloo at peak times earlier in 2018.
The summer timetable now brings even more capacity some of the busiest weekend and off-peak services, a small number of weekday peak services will be lengthened as well.
Many of the smaller stations will also benefit from additional calls, such as Longcross on the Windsor Line, Godalming on the Portsmouth Line and Whitchurch on the West of England line.
PDFs of the new timetables can now be downloaded. Please click here to view the timetables, alternatively, you can pick up a paper copy at any staffed South Western Railway station.
What did the officials say?
South Western Railway’s Managing Director, Andy Mellors, said:
“I’m delighted that we’ve been able to provide over 5,500 extra seats for thousands of our customers, and better journey opportunities at some of our smaller stations in the new timetable.
“The new longer platforms at Waterloo mean that we’re now running longer trains on some of our busiest services, and in December this year, the former Waterloo International Terminal will fully reopen, giving us access to additional platforms, providing much needed extra flexibility.”
