Northern is urging its passengers to check their train times and station stops ahead of Britain’s biggest train timetable change for decades.

The new timetables come into force on the 20th May 2018 and are planning a lot of changes.

As part of the new timetable, departure times and the Manchester stations where some services travel to and from across the Pennines will change. Customers are being asked to take note of the changes to the services and think about their onward journey.

The rail timetable changes every May and December and allows train operators to improve services, change station stops, and where necessary, amend times.

May 2018’s timetable change is the biggest in decades, and unfortunately, there has been a delay to them being processed into industry systems.

When will they be available?

This delay now means that the timetables will not be available to download from the Northern website until Monday 7th May 2018 with printed versions available from the 1st June 2018.
