The Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway have announced that they have two roles available as paid members of staff at the railway.

The 15-inch gauge line runs for 14 miles along the South Kent Coast from Hythe to Dungeness via New Romney and is dubbed ‘Kents Mainline’.

The railway carries 180,000 passengers a year and has an interesting mix of modern and heritage assets.

The two positions that have become available are Permanent Way Manager and Signalling and Telecommunications Trainee/Assistant.

Permanent Way involves the track that the railway maintains – full details can be had by contacting the RHDR.

To allow the trains to run on the track, the railway needs to have sufficient signalling on the route, this is where the Signalling and Telecommunications Trainee/Assistant comes in – again, more details can be found by contacting the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway.
