The Ribble Steam Railway, at Preston Docks, Lancashire, has today confirmed that steam locomotive No. 32 ‘Gothenburg’ is to visit the line for its steam gala.
The steam gala is being held at the standard gauge heritage railway from the 24th March until 25th March 2018.
No. 32 ‘Gothenburg’ will be visiting the Ribble Steam Railway from the East Lancashire Railway, which is based in Bury.
Gothenburg was built in 1903 by Hudswell Clarke for the Manchester Ship Canal Railway. The locomotive is a long-term resident of the East Lancashire Railway, which it hauling its first train on the line into Ramsbottom in 1987.
Gothenburg currently is in its Thomas Livery so that it can be used as Thomas at the railways ‘Days Out With Thomas’ events throughout the year.
