The Welshpool and Llanfair Railway is appearing on BBC One’s ‘I Escaped to the Country’ (Escape To The Country) this Friday Afternoon (January 12th) at 3 pm.

During the Programme, the presenter, Alistair Appleton, revisits the region to visit a couple who had originally had a £475,000 budget to buy a small house.

Within a few years, the couple bought one of the properties which Alistair showed them and have not only transformed parts of their new house, but made strides to becoming self-sufficient on their plot of land.

Whilst in the region, Alistair, and the filming team takes in the country and visits the .

What did the officials say?

A spokesperson for the railway said episode had been filmed last June and added: “We had a great time with the film crew and we’re looking forward to seeing the end result.”
