New-build Peppercorn A1 No. 60163 “Tornado” will make a weekend visit to the Great Central Railway Nottingham.

In 2017, Tornado has become a star on the mainline, achieving 100mph for the first time since British railways operated steam.

Tornado also featured on the green screen, featuring in the movie Paddington 2.

In 2018, Tornado will reach its 10th birthday, being completed in 2008 by the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust.

Before 2018’s work for Tornado can start, 60163 is undergoing maintenance at Locomotive Maintenance Services Ltd, based in Loughborough.

Tornado’s visit will take place on Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th of February.

How much does it cost?

Return Tickets from Ruddington for adults are £15 and children £8. A limited number of Day Rover Tickets are available at £50. Online booking is advised due to the events popularity.
