The Lynton and Barnstaple Railway is shut for the winter, but that doesn’t mean you cant help out!

Next weekend, from Friday 26th January until Sunday 28th January 2018, the will be holding their January Working Weekend.

Winter is the time where most railways take advantage of the colder days and stop running to complete maintenance on locomotives and track.

The railways January Working Weekend will be based at Woody Bay for the weekend and the team will be undertaking a number of track maintenance tasks as the team numbers allow.

The key job for the weekend will be re-timbering the “London” (up) end crossover at Woody Bay Station.

What do I need?

Tea and coffee will be provided, but the railway asks the volunteers to bring their own lunch. Hi-viz and safety footwear is a must for everyone.
