Santa Special trains at the Midland Railway – Butterley is one of the most popular events operated by the railway.

The railway is used to unusual requests, such as babies presenting their dummies to Santa in return for a Christmas present.

This all changed when Troy Stafford used the family visits the Santa Special trains to propose to Tracey Rangeley. The railway was pleased to help!

Luckily for all on board the train, Tracey said yes!

What did the officials say?

Alan Calladine, the Midland Railway Trust Development Officer said, “This was a very pleasant surprise for Santa and all his helpers. We wish Tracey and Troy all the best for the future and hope that Santa gave them a great Christmas.”
