The Mid-Norfolk Railway (MNR) has announced that a Direct Rail Services (DRS) class 88 will join the line-up for their Spring Diesel Gala.

Class 88

The class 88s are some of the latest electro-diesel locomotives to run on Britain’s railways, with the class, only entering service in 2017.

The new class 88s share many components with the class 68, most notably the body shell.

Currently, there are only 10 in service, all operated by DRS.

MNR’s Spring Diesel Gala

The MNR’s spring diesel gala will give any class 88 fans the chance to get up close, take pictures and ride behind these new engines.

Class 88 will be joined by both other visiting locomotives and home fleet engines.
