7812 “Erlestoke Manor” has been unloaded at Tyseley Locomotive Works where its Overhaul will start shortly.

After its final day in service on December 31st, 2017, 7812 has undergone preliminary work at the Severn Valley Railway before being transported to Tyseley.

Both the Brick Arch and Grate have been removed, followed by removal of Cab Fittings for refurbishment and labeling of Pipework to aid when they are reattached.

At Tyseley, work will continue on removing Cab Fittings, to allow the Cab Roof to be lifted. This will allow the Boiler to be lifted out of the Frame and Examined prior to receiving work.

GWR Tender

7812’s Tender is being Repaired and Repainted before being attached to 7802. The Tender recently carried by 7812 is a Churchward 3500 Gallons, which the Manors carried in GWR and BR service. 7802 currently has a Collet 4000 Gallons, not carried by carried the Manors in GWR or BR service. This is why the Erlestoke Manor Fund is building a new Churchward 3500 Gallons Tender, to give both Manors a more authentic look.
