S160 No. 5197, a member of the Churnet Valley Railway‘s (CVR) home fleet, is to visit the Epping Ongar Railway in June 2018.

While at the Epping Ongar Railway, S160 No. 5197 will take part in June’s Steam Gala. This runs on Fri 8th, Sat 9th, and Sun 10th of June 2017.

The steam locomotive was built as works number 8856 by the Lima Locomotive Company. Who was based in Ohio, in the USA, in June 1945. 6 months later, in January 1946, she was exported to China.

In 2001, she was put up for sale and purchased by Greg Wilson who moved her to the Churnet Valley Railway in Staffordshire where she has been based ever since.

The gala will feature further visiting engines, which will be announced at a later date (we will cover further news when this becomes available.
