Riley & Sons to operate and maintain 60103 Flying Scotsman in 2018

Riley and Son (E) Ltd have announced that they have been picked to operate and maintain A3 60103 Flying Scotsman for the 2018 season.

The final contract and other information will be released once the process is finished.

Riley and Son completed the overhaul of the world famous locomotive in 2016.

More information on the A3s running schedule in 2018 will be announced in the new year.

The Science Museum Group launched an invitation to treat on August 22nd with the closing date for applications on September 13th.

Riley’s current contract runs out at the end of 2017.

An NRM spokesperson said: “We are currently negotiating the final contract, and more information will be released once the process has concluded. All parties that submitted a response to the tender have been informed of the result.
