The Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways have released an update to their progress at redesigning Boston Lodge Works to fit more carriages in.
This is all part of Phase 5 of reconnecting the Welsh Highland Railway between Caernarfon and Porthmadog.
The line has been opened for a number of years now, but work still continues, like the £1 million redevelopments of Porthmadog Harbour Station.
Boston Lodge is being expanded to allow more carriages to fit in the carriage shed, it is also to allow the South African Garretts to fit in a shed at night. At the minute, they are parked in a siding next to Boston Lodge Works.
What work has been done?
The piling work has been completed. The Ground Levels are being brought up to level it off with the materials available on site.
Phase one of this work will be completed by the start of the Christmas holiday.
NB: the work area is off limit to the public
