The Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Museum are looking for your help to save the Gloucester Horton Road Motive Power Depot (MPD) from demolition.
The MPD, better known as 85B in the British Railways Era, is under threat from being demolished and redeveloped into housing.
The Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Museum were formed in 2016 by a group of local railway enthusiasts. They have had a number of meetings with Network Rail, who owns the site, to see if they can purchase the site for the museum.
Originally, they seemed happy for them to purchase the site if they could raise the funds and obtain planning permission. However, they have now changed their minds and the site is only available for residential redevelopment.
The Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Company have plans for the manufacture, restoration etc of carriages and wagons for heritage railways. They also have plans to work with mainline tour operators to offer a servicing point for their locomotives.
