Another event this weekend is the Lancashire Weekend at the East Lancashire Railway where the railway are giving you the chance to receive a discount.
An action packed weekend celebrating all things Lancashire.
Every two adult passengers who are wearing a red rose will receive a discount. One ticket will be free with each Adult paying ticket.
This is to celebrate Lancashire Day which will be on the 27th November 2017.
Below is highlights of what can be seen over the two days (18th & 19th November 2017)
Saturday 18th November 2017
- John Crook, who is Town crier of Westhoughton, will read the Lancashire day proclamation at midday on platform 3 at Bury Bolton Street station
- Performing after the proclamation on Platform 3 will be:
- Wrigley Head Morris men
- Royal Preston Morris men
Sunday 19th November 2017
- At 12 noon on platform 3, The Deputy Lieutenant Mrs Sharman Rona Birtles JP will read the proclamation supported by John Crook.
- Performing after the proclamation will be:
- Okenhoof folk dancers
- Horwich prize medal morris men
- Brittania Coconutters (performing at Rawtenstall in the morning prior to Bolton street)
- Southport Swords – New for 2017!
- Sid Calderbank and Mark Dowling will also be traveling on the service trains singing and reciting Lancashire songs.
