Train operating company TransPennine Express will be doing their bit for the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas Appeal across the North of England.
The appeal aims to help thousands of vulnerable and underprivileged children
TPE want to help the estimated one in four children in the north, which live in Poverty. They want to make sure they wake up with a present on Christmas Day.
Last year £8.8 million in presents and money were spread across the 187,000 local children.
Felix the Huddersfield Station Cat has released a range of Christmas goodies like the 2018 calendar and a soft toy. All profits go the charity.
Alongside the Merchandise. 25p from every TPE ticket which is printed at home will go towards the cause.
What did the officials say?
Charlie French, TPE Transport Integration Manager, said: “This appeal makes a huge difference to children across the North and I’m thrilled that TPE are able to help. We’re doing more than ever before with the Felix’s goodies, 25p donation from each print at home ticket, and 50p from sales of our on-board Christmas biscuits donated to the charity. Our colleagues will also be getting involved with Christmas Jumper Days, donating toys, and really getting hands on with present sorting at the Cash for Kids warehouse, and packing the Felix items. We really want to make a difference this Christmas supporting this amazing charity.”
Sally Aitchison MBE Managing Director Bauer Media’s Cash for Kids, said: “We are very excited that once again the amazing team at TPE are raising money for Cash for Kids Mission Christmas. There are so many ways in which customers can support our appeal and with some lovely Christmas gift ideas too. We would like to thank the whole team for their continued support and together we will put a little Magic into Christmas for the thousands of children who would otherwise wake up to nothing on Christmas morning.”
