The Churnet Valley Railway have announced details for their next upcoming galas which will take place next year.
First of all, the Winter Steam Gala has been moved, and will now take place in 2018 now.
It will take place on the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of February, and will also act as a farewell Gala for 4277, as the boiler ticket runs out on the 9th of February.
NSRC40 Gala
Secondly, CVR will host another gala anniversary gala, this being NSRC40 Gala. This gala is to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the North Staffordshire Railway Company (NSRC). Formed in 1978, NSRC is the supporting charity for CVR, and without it, CVR wouldn’t be the railway it is today.
The gala is going to have a LMS theme, and this is reflected in two of the guest locomotives.
The guests are West Somerset Railway’s S&D 7F 53808 and Bahamas Locomotive Society’s LNWR ‘Coal Tank, 1054. Coal Tank 1054 will be visiting from the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.
This gala will held in October 2018, and also will be the first appearance of visiting 4555, which is staying until February 2019.
