Scottish Station Wins Top Award

ScotRail has announced that Kilmarnock has been nominated for a top award at the Community Rail Awards 2017.

Refurbished in December 2016, Kilmarnocks Underpass was nominated for the ‘Community Art Schemes (Permanent Projects)’ category.

Association of Community Rail Partnerships (ACoRP) were the organises of the event.

East Midlands Trains hosted the awards at The Roundhouse, Derby on the Thursday 5 October 2017.

James Ledgerwood, Head of Economic Development at ScotRail, said “It’s fantastic to see the stunning work at Kilmarnock station receive this accolade.”

He added “It was a real community project. People of all ages and backgrounds got involved and created something that truly reflects the town’s great heritage and prosperous future.”
