During this October Half Term, the National Railway Museums biggest event, Future Engineers, is returning.

This is a free hands on event for all the family this half term.

You will be challenged to find out how the railways work and also have an insight into the world of engineering.

The event has already begun on the 21st October. Although, the event runs for the rest of the week until the 5th November.

More than 30,000 people are expected to visit the museum throughout the week.

Activities:

• York performance poet Dave Jarman will be performing.
• Learn about tunnels.
• Jon Chase will be rapping about science and railways.
• And more!

Lynne Minett, who is Head of Learning and Events at the National Railway Museum, said “Last year’s events were so successful that we are bringing Future Engineers back with a new theme and a longer-running programme of new and exciting activities. Children will enjoy learning about today’s railways and finding out how engineers are using technology to push the boundaries of what’s possible in tunnels, track and train design. This programme is designed to be great fun but also to help inspire young people to develop an interest in engineering and to hopefully inspire the next generation of railway engineers.”

The National Railway Museum is open 10am to 6pm all week and is FREE for all.
