4277 has arrived at Churnet Valley Railway, and passed steam tests along the line successfully.
4277 visit to Churnet Valley Railway is special for a few reasons. Firstly, this will be 4277’s first and only visit away from home line Dartmouth Steam Railway.
Secondly, 4277 will see out the rest of its current 10-year boiler ticket at Churnet Valley Railway. 4277’s ticket expires in February 2018. This means 4277 will also haul other trains on Churnet Valley Railway. These Santa Specials and the Winter Programme trains. Once the ticket has expire, 4277 will return home to Dartmouth Steam Railway, where oveehaul should start shortly afterwards.
Finally, 4277 will be repainted into BR Black with early crest, giving it an 1950’s look. 4277 is currently in the Carriage Works in order for the repaint to begin soon. 4277’s first appearance in the BR Black with early crest will be the first day of the 25th Anniversary Gala, the 20th of October.
