Ian Riley’s Black 5, No. 44871, is heading south from Scotland to visit the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.
UPDATE (As of 10:45am on 29/09/17)
The move for 44871 to come from Fort William to Keighley is not going ahead today – the loco is still heading for the railway, though now it looks like to happen next week.
See the update from the KWVR below
Black 5 44871
The black 5 has been up in the highlands of Scotland hauling ‘The Jacobite’ specials. The Railtour runs from Mallaig to Fort William. This railtour is ran by West Coast Railways.

It is hoped the black 5 will be able to run the steam diagram over the weekend. It will be joining forces with one of the diesel locomotives to cover the ‘green’ timetable.
The locomotive is operated and owner by Ian Riley, who runs 45407 and 45212, and they can often be seen in the winter at their ‘home’ at the East Lancs Railway.
The timetable for this weekend can be found by clicking here.
Of course, the usual terms and conditions apply. 44871 will only operate this weekend if it is available to make the trip from Scotland, but we will keep you posted 🙂
