Over the weekend of 25th-27th August 2017, the Bala Lake Railway held their annual steam gala, celebrating George B’s return to steam.
Unfortunately, George B failed on the Thursday before the gala, and meant an emergency replacement had to be found, and was found in the form of Hunslet ‘Hugh Napier’, from the Ffestiniog Railway / National Trust.
Hugh Napier
Hunslet Hugh Napier is owned by the National Trust and is operated by the Ffestiniog Railway in North Wales. The locomotive was built in 1904 for the Penrhyn Quarry.
