The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway has announced 3 visitors to their Cotswold Festival of Steam Gala, which will take place at the end of May 2017.
Black 5 No. 45305
Visiting from the Great Central Railway, this LMS Black 5 was built in 1937 by Armstrong Whitworth. The locomotive arrived at the Great Central Railway on the 20th November, 1996 and was returned to service in 2003.
Collett No. 1450 Plus Autocoach W238W
Visiting from the Severn Valley Railway, No. 1450 will be joined by Autocoach W238W which can be driven at either end, when operating with the loco at the front, the driver will be at the front in the loco, but when the loco is at the back, the driver can hop into the autocoach and control the train from there. 1450 was built in July 1935 and has appeared at a number of galas and ran on the Great Western Mainline since.
USATC S160 No. 6046
No. 6046 will be visiting the Glos Warks Railway from the Churnet Valley Railway. No. 6046 is one of two S160s based at the Churnet Valley Railway, and one of 400 S160s which operated in the UK during World War 2. No. 6046 returned to steam in 2012 following her overhaul.
