Earlier this year, where we gave you the news that the the line between Blaenau Ffestiniog and Trawsfynydd was being cleared for a track inspection.

We now have the news that the Trawsfynydd & Blaenau Railway are looking to raise funds to buy a diesel shunter loco for when the railway is being completed.

The Class 08 Diesel Shunter for the Railway

The Ex British Railways Class 08, number 08757 is currently for sale at the Crewe Electric Loco Depot and is pending sale, with this loco available.

The Trawsfynydd Railway is looking to raise £19,600 to complete the purchase and move the loco to a secure base where it will operate from and be used to help restore the line to working order.
