Earlier this month, we gave you the news that Jubilee 1897 will be returning to the Penrhyn Quarry Railway to be returned to steam. You can see that post, here
In early November, Jubilee will leave the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum in Tywyn. Before going in for overhaul at the Felin Fawr site, there will be a Supporters Weekend on the weekend of 12/13th November 2016, where it will be the last time to see Jubilee before the work on restoration starts.
The work is expected to take 12-18 months, assuming no surprises. Jubilee will then be able to take heritage trains along the completed ‘Phase 2’ extension once that is completed in the future.
At the supporters weekend, The Penrhyn Quarry Railway hopes to have Winifred visiting from the Bala Lake Railway again, as well as the resident diesels in operation throughout the weekend.
Opening times will be 10:00-17:00 on both days. Prices for admission will be £4 Adults, £3 Concessions.
