In this weeks ‘Throwback Thursday’, we steam back to 2008 as we see resident  loco No. 1 ‘Talyllyn’ (in Black Livery) taking a break at Abergynolwyn.

Abergynolwyn is the middle station on the Talyllyn Railway, trains pass here on busy days, the station also has a café serving hot food and drinks.

No. 1 ‘Talyllyn’

Talyllyn was  built by Fletcher Jennings & Co in 1864 in  Whitehaven, Cumbria. Talyllyn is sisters with No. 2 ‘Dolgoch’, who was also built by Fletcher Jennings. It was rebuilt in 1958 by Gibbons Bros Ltd. Talyllyn is seen on the railway throughout the year. Currently running in Talyllyn Red Livery, though the loco has been in Green, Black and Red.

The photo of No. 1 ‘Talyllyn’ was taken in 2008 with an Apple iPhone 3G with a 5MP.
