In June 1968, the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway was opened, and in 2018, the Railway will celebrate 50 years of being a heritage railway. No. 41241 has been out of action for some years following the expiry of its boiler ticket. Repairs are needed to the tanks, boiler and firebox, and general restoration estimating £200,000. The railway has launched the ‘No. 41241 Appeal’ needs to raise this money to make sure that this engine can run again in time for its 50th anniversary.
