The weekend of 9/10th April 2016 saw another fabulous special event at the East Lancashire Railway. Sci-Fi on the Sidings, brought together the stars of the railway, along the numerous stars of the Sci-Fi World.
What was there to see?
At Rawtenstall, we were taken Back to the Future with a replica of the famous DeLorean from the film.
Parked alongside was KITT from the TV Series Knight Rider.
We then transported ourselves to Bury, on the steam spaceship, and were greeted by Darth Vader, Stormtroopers and Chewbacca.
There was also a spectacular show of lights and sound on the bridge at the station, with Characters from Doctor Who.
Davros, K9, a Cyberman and The Tardis were all on display, although The Doctor himself wasn’t seen, he was perhaps, actually inside the Tardis.
Over at the Bury Transport Museum, there was Sci-Fi Meccano and Lego on display alongside the usual exhibits.
