In Episode 12 of Throwback Thursdays we see Tanygrisau on the Ffestiniog Railway. This panorama was originally taken back in October 2012. This was taken on an Apple iPhone 5.
Tanygrisiau had been the terminus of the Ffestiniog Railway from 1978 to 1982, when the railway completed the extension to Blaenau Ffestiniog (the current terminus). Trains pass each other on busy days and at gala events.
Tanygrisau station is next to the Tanygrisiau Hydro-Electric Power Station. This is at the other side of the water and behind the trees in the picture. Just before Tanygrisau Station on the way to Blaenau Ffestiniog there is a waterfall which you can get great views of from the train!
