Last week I took a trip to Leeds Station on the Aire Valley Line. I travelled on the 11:41 Northern service from Keighley to Leeds. I was early for the train and got chance for me to take some pictures.
Firstly, a West Coast Railways Special entered. Hauled by a Diesel Locomotive numbered 57314. The train was heading from the Leeds direction towards Skipton, and may have been heading towards Carlisle.
Shortly after Diesel 57314 had left Keighley, Diesel Multiple Unit(DMU) Â Class 150 arrived at Keighley, also heading towards Skipton. This was probably heading towards Morecambe.
Quickly after was the Northern Class 333 Service to Bradford Forster Square. This was heading towards Leeds, but at Shipley headed to go towards Bradford.
Almost immediately, another Northern Class 333 arrived at Keighley. This time bound for Skipton.
The Class 333 are Electric so are very quiet. Also, all Northern services on the Aire Valley Line now have FREE WiFi on board their trains.
Our train now arrived, which was running on time. Here’s a couple of pictures fro my journey…
When you arrive at Leeds Station, you realise how big it is.
There are 15 platforms, with many different trains to be seen. At Leeds, there is a Burger King, Mcdonalds, Kfc and a Subway all inside the station. So if your hungry, feed your appetite! Heres some pictures of Leeds Station and some of the trains I saw :-
Keighley & Worth Valley Railway
We arrived back at Keighley in the early evening. I noticed the Worth Valley Railway was still open. I wandered over for a look, I saw the last departure in the station, and a diesel shunting some coaches. Here are a few pictures.
