LMS Jubilee Class No. 45690 “Leander” has been confirmed to join the East Lancashire Railway‘s (ELR) home fleet for their Spring Steam Gala in early March.

45690 Leander is usually seen out on the mainline, hauling various tours for West Coast Railways and other tour promoters.

Leander is no stranger to the ELR, undergoing an overhaul at the railway once and has hauled many trains along the line within the last 10 years.

Returning from its last overhaul in October 2014, Leander currently carries BR Black Livery with Early Crest.

Spring Steam Gala

The East Lancashire Railways Spring Steam Gala takes place on Friday the 2nd to Sunday the 4th of March. Leander joins ELR’s home fleet of five engines, working to an intense timetable. You can view details about the gala on RailAdvent’s Events page here
