Description
This is the second book in the Peter’s Railway series. Peter and his Grandpa build more track and equipment for their railway across the farm and go on a visit to the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway.
As usual, Grandpa tells stories from the old railways and Peter helps him to build and run the railway. In this book, Peter learns to drive the locomotive.
Accompanying the story are simple technical pages with how-it-works information. They are at the end of the chapters, but do not need to be looked at to enjoy the story.
The Hon Sir William McAlpine said “I wish I could have had these books when I was a boy, they would have given me as much pleasure as they do now; and SO much information!”
This hardback book has 96 pages with 30 watercolour pictures. There are 14 pages of simple technical drawings to explain, add interest and answer questions.
