Sunday 13th October. Having booked to spend the day at the East Lancs Railway I was not able to drive myself there but managed to persuade my wife to drive me in the afternoon. My primary interest was to finally see the Jinty (as part of my project to see 75 operational locos to coincide with my 75th birthday … only 2 to go now)

There is a build up of weeds at Rawtenstall, but the ELR have a solution in the form of a locomotive called Douglas which regularly sets fire to the line side vegetation.

Does anyone know what happened to Blue Peter today – it started on a test run from Crewe to Preston but when I checked later, just before heading to try and catch it on the return, the outbound leg showed as cancelled due a problem with the steam locomotive – or words to that effect. The Inbound leg shows as cancelled due to late arrival of…

We havent had anything official confirmed, but it ran into an issue at Warrington Bank Quay and instead of continuing to Preston, they used the Class 37 on the rear to drag it back to Crewe

Friday 13th September. The Cogwarts Steam Punk Festival was held in Llangollen over the weekend and on Friday evening The Llangollen and Corwen Railway ran a Steam Punk Special charter service. Seen here waiting at Langollen and later working up the 1 in 80 gradient to Berwyn Station

Nothing you have done. To get the speed increase of the website we have had to rebuild LocoStop from the ground up which has meant that ‘friends’ have now become connections and those who use connections will need to become reconnected.
