I have heard that the Haverton to Preston Bitumen tanker Train services (6M43 and 6E43) and the return are to stop at the end November this year.
Apparently there are declining volumes but it would take around 30 lorries to have replaced todays delivery, and cause 5 or 6 times the emissions of the train.

The Bitumen Freight Tanker Train Service 6M43 running from Haverton Total Colas to Colas Ribble Rail Preston operated by Colas Class 56 Heritage Diesel Locomotive Number 56105 failed due to poor track conditions on Copy Pit and by the time it reaches Accrington it is running 211 minutes late.
