Scottish railway bridge to be rebuiltNetwork Rail has announced that a multi-million-pound project to demolish and rebuild a bridge in Angus has now begun.

What a novel idea putting in a temporary bridge it means they can't close the road for ages, of course they could have built new bridge next to it at an angle and taken out that sharp turn onto it

Isle of Wight line to be closed for one monthNetwork Rail and South Western Railway have announced that the Island Line, which runs from Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin on the Isle of Wight, will close for essential maintenance work on Friday, 6 September.

Very poor connections into and out of the lopsided service (40 minutes headway) that has been operating of late. -
The "service" to Ryde Pier Head seems to have been in utter disarray for years. Closing the service from Esplanade to Pier Head for yet another 8 months will surely discourage everyone from ever considering… Read more
