Full Description
The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway held their ever popular Spring Steam Gala in March 2024 and brought in two visiting Western heavyweights for a weekend full of steam (and sun!)
4079 Pendennis Castle visited for the gala thanks to the Didcot Railway Centre, and joining the Castle was 6990 Witherslack Hall, which visited thanks to the Great Central Railway.
Joining the visitors were LMS Jubilee No. 45596 Bahamas, LNWR Coal Tank No. 1054, LMS Ivatt No. 41241, L&Y ‘Ironclad’ No. 52044, BR Standard 4MT No. 75078, Taff Vale No. 85 and BR Standard 2MT No. 78022.
A number of freight runs feature in this set, which includes around 4 hours of footage. As a bonus, the KWVR invited us onboard the first brake van ride of the gala to Haworth Loop behind 6990 Witherslack Hall.
Express trains, double headers and onboard footage feature in the set alongside multiple lineside locations.
We also visit every station on the line, so look out for Oakworth station, made famous for its starring role in The Railway Children.
Release Date: 8th June 2024
