  1. What on earth has been going on? At first the actual timings petered out at Bearwood with no further information two hours later. Then the train reappeared at Didcot having presumably gone back to Worcester before diverting via Oxford (this borne out by mention of platform 5 at Didcot).. Although use of 46100 had been cancelled, the site quite specifically said that it would now be D213 throughout. I decided on the basis of this information that a Class 40 in Kent was still worth seeing, so made my way to Borough Green & Wrotham for the expected revised passing time, only to be told by somebody else that the train would be an hour later having had the Class 40 changed for a Class 47. I made my way back home as it was obviously not worth waiting to see a Class 47. On arrival home, I had another look at your site and found that the information had been amended, after wveryone had set out to see the Class 40, to make it look as if the original intention had been for the change to a Class 47 at Hanwell.. additionally, it is still not clear how D213 came to be on the train in the first place when the site gave the impression that the original Class 47 had failed at Bearwood. So – what on earth has been going on?

  2. As I was an ex British Rail train driver for 25 years I am still interested in both modern and steam trains,as it ran in my
Family as my late father was on the steam at tonbridge after
He came out of the 2nd world war and started as a fireman on
The steam then went up to a full driver.
