The General Steam Navigation Locomotive Restoration Society (GSNLRS) have released their February 2018 Update.
Visits to railways
The GSNLRS visited the Mid Hants Railway’s Pre-Spring Gala with the sales stand set up in Ropley’s Up Platform’s New Waiting Room. The visit was successful, meeting many people who weren’t aware of the society.
Visiting the gala also allowed the society to collect completed sponsored parts. These included oil keeps (for both bogie and trailing truck), Klinger valve handles and whistle valve. These parts, along with the new nameplates, will be on display at the up-coming Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The next event the society will have a stand present will be Swanage Railway‘s Spring Gala 2018 “Works Outing”, located on the platform at Swanage station.
Working parties
Unfortunately, due to the extreme weather, the working party for this weekend (Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th of March) has been cancelled.
Dates for the next working party will be announced once confirmed.
