Transport for Wales has announced that work is underway at Bridgend railway station as part of their multi-million-pound Station Improvement Vision.
The work will take place until the end of the month, and includes the installation of new information screens in the main booking hall.
In addition to details of trains, the screens will include information on the local bus services and other general information.
The waiting room on Platform 2 will be redecorated along with the repainting of the footbridge. New seating will be added to both platforms.
Finishing off the improvements will be a new cycle shelter, signage, LED lighting and extra recycling bins.
Yasmin Browning, Transport for Wales Station Improvements Projects Manager, said: “We’re delighted work has started at Bridgend, where we’re already seeing so much progress being made to improve facilities for our customers in what is a key community on our network.
“When finished, we believe the number of improvements we’re making to the station will mean our customers see great benefits making them feel safer, more comfortable, and giving them an overall more enjoyable experience.”
The latest work at the station follows a £1.5m project at Bridgend station back in 2018
