Machining is in progress on the valve faces, with the valve guides and buckles refitted temporarily to check the distances. New clacks have been produced for the injectors.

Brake shafts have been reconnected to both steam and hand brake. Attention has turned to the screw reverser, starting with cleaning to show the condition of each part.

Material for the axle box crowns is ready for machining. Grinding work will soon start on both the new die block blanks and expansion links.

Checking the fit between the horn ties and horn blocks is being done, ensuring both fits together perfectly. All the eccentrics await machining following recent re-metalling.

Work at South Devon Railway Engineering has seen the boiler barrel section completed, with work on the tubeplate now continuing. Repairs needed on the tanks will begin shortly with the tanks now moved into the workshop.

Paint has now been applied to the bunker, with the majority of the fittings, like water valve handles, reattached.
