West Coast Railways has confirmed the provisional start date for The Jacobite will be Friday 17th July 2020.
The Scottish Government has announced that they intend to lift restrictions on the tourism Friday 17th July, and this will be confirmed on Thursday 9th July 2020.
Therefore, West Coast Railways is preparing The Jacobite to take to the rails again and over the Glenfinnan Viaduct as featured in the Harry Potter films.
West Coast Railways has said: “welfare is our only priority, protecting the NHS, the Jacobite will only run when it’s safe for our passengers, colleagues, local residents and with the backing of the UK Government.”
Passengers can visit The Safe Way, to find out how West Coast Railways are preparing.
All passengers booked to travel before Friday 17th July will be contacted over the next few days to discuss their options, to either change it to a later date or convert the booking to a VIP Credit voucher.
If the restrictions mean that The Jacobite cannot run from 17th July 2020, WCRC will contact customers as quickly as possible.

It would lovely to see the jacobite run again but if the ristrictions means it can’t run on the 17/5/20 then could it run on a later date if possible.
It would lovely to see steam return after lockdown even with ristrictions still in place and it would be lovely to reopen up all the steam railways and fairs and museum’s again. As some desperate for and in need of financial help. I hope steam will be back soon I’m sure it will as it is coming back soon and we will be back at riding the rails and roads with and on it again.
