Model manufacturer Bachmann Europe has presented the Ffestiniog Railway in Wales with two thousand pounds, raised from the sale of Scenecraft models depicting various parts of the Railway’s structures.
The presentation was made during the Ffestiniog Railway’s annual Bygones Weekend earlier this month. At the same event, Bachmann also announced its new OO9 models.
Bachmann has been adding an increasing number of models to its Scenecraft series that are inspired by the Ffestiniog Railway.
Scenecraft products are miniature models of buildings, structures and accessories, designed and produced mainly for use on model railway layouts and dioramas.
The first that Bachmann manufactured to be replicated was the line’s headquarters, Porthmadog Harbour Station, released at the end of 2022.
More recently, the company has released models of Harbour Station Goods Shed, Boston Lodge Blacksmiths & Wagon Workshop, Boston Lodge Engine Shed and Minffordd Waiting Room, with these four models raising the two thousand pounds donated.
The four models feature in the current Scenecraft range, and have been joined by three more models depicting buildings and structures found at the Railway’s Tan-Y-Bwlch station, the principal intermediate passenger station on the narrow-gauge Railway.
All of these models are available from Bachmann stockists including the Ffestiniog Railway shop.
Bachmann Scenecraft’s Ffestiniog-based models are produced at a scale of 4mm:1ft, which means that they are suitable for use on both OO9 Narrow Gauge and OO Standard Gauge model railway layouts and dioramas.
Bachmann has also announced two new tooling projects – the Tin Car Coaches and Curly Roof Van/Brake Third – for its Narrow Gauge OO9 scale range, both based on Ffestiniog Railway prototypes.
