The Spa Valley Railway in Kent is starting the October Half-term week with a new event.

Largely taking place inside the original steam locomotive shed at Tunbridge Wells West, and at a few other stations along the line.

This weekend Saturday 26 & Sunday 27 October, members of the public can witness a range of large and small working model scenes, with all the assets from track to train entirely made from LEGO® at the ‘Model Brick Show’.

There will also be Lego model planes, cars, buses, lorries and boats giving a real representation of transportation to the show.

Lego building is more popular than ever thanks to several TV programs covering various competitions across the globe.

It’s just as big here in the UK, but Lego fans who are also rail enthusiasts have found a way to build replicate and run trains we all know in brick-built format, and display and run them at such shows across the county. There have also been special kits made that replicate famous trains in Lego form.

List of Model Brick Displays:

• Tunbrick Wells West – A LEGO model of Tunbridge Wells West as it is today, built by one of our volunteers!
• Billingate – An L gauge layout based on a fictional heritage railway station in Southern England
• Little London – A Lego display showcasing the various modes of transport in London!
• Brick End Railway Engine Shed – A small layout featuring an automated turntable and engine shed!
• The LUKR Northern Layout – A modular collaborative layout built by members of the LUKR, a model railway club for Lego train builders!
• Inglenook Shunting Puzzle – Come and try your skills at shunting wagons around in this very popular shunting puzzle!
• An array of non-train model brick models will also be on display.

There is also a competition to participate in, where the prize is a family ticket for a journey along the Spa Valley Railway.

All visitors need to do is decode a railway-themed word, the individual letters of which are scattered across the Lego exhibits. Spectators need to visit all the exhibits to find all the hidden letters and if you guess correctly, you can enter the draw to win the prize.

The railway travel ticket price covers admission to the ‘Model Brick Show’. Giving passengers the chance to travel and explore any of the line’s four stations across the North Weald and visit the ‘Model Brick Show’.
